Meeting of Experts on Customs-Related Business Facilitation Measures

PRESS COMMUNIQUÉ

The Sixth Meeting of Experts on Customs-related Business Facilitation Measures of the FTAA took place on June 6-7, 2000. Delegates from the following countries were present: Argentina, Bahamas, Bolivia, Brazil Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Dominican Republic, Ecuador, El Salvador, Mexico, Nicaragua, Panama and Uruguay.

The meeting of Experts continued working towards the implementation of the Customs-Related Business Facilitation Measures approved by Trade Ministers at the Toronto Ministerial Meeting and reaffirmed by Trade Ministers at the Buenos Aires Ministerial Meeting, including technical assistance required by some FTAA member countries to advance in the implementation of these measures.

The Group agreed to update the matrix listing Implementation Status and Technical Assistance Needs: Custom Related Business Facilitation Measures, which is posted on the FTAA homepage (http://www.ftaa-alca.org).
