PRESS COMMUNIQUÉ

A meeting of Experts on Customs-related Business Facilitation Measures of the FTAA took place in Miami, Florida, on July 10-11, 2000. Delegates from the following countries were present: Argentina, Bahamas, Barbados, Bolivia, Brazil, Canada, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Ecuador, Jamaica, Mexico, Nicaragua, Panama, Peru, United States and Venezuela.

The Experts discussed all issues included on the agenda, which is attached to this communiqué.

The Group agreed to the future publication, via the FTAA homepage (http://www.ftaa-alca.org), of the current status of the implementation process of the customs-related business facilitation measures. It is estimated that the publication of this document will take place during the fourth quarter of this year (2000), pending finalization of remaining technical issues.
