Meeting of Experts on Customs-Related Business Facilitation Measures

PRESS COMMUNIQUÉ

A meeting of Experts on Customs-related Business Facilitation Measures of the FTAA took place in Miami, Florida on January 27-28, 2000. Delegates from the following countries were present: Argentina, Bahamas, Barbados, Bolivia, Brazil, Canada, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Dominican Republic, Ecuador, Guatemala, Jamaica, Mexico, Nicaragua, Panama, Paraguay, Peru, United States of America, Uruguay, and Venezuela. The experts covered all issues listed on the agenda, which is attached to this communiqué. The Meeting of Experts continued its efforts towards the implementation of the Customs-related Business Facilitation Measures approved by Ministers in the Toronto Ministerial Meeting, including technical assistance required by some FTAA members to implement these measures. They agreed to hold its next meeting on May 4-5, 2000.
