Executive summary: The aim of this study is to present both the latest developments in and perspectives for negotiation of the dispute settlement system to be adopted in the FTAA, focusing primarily on the mandate of the Negotiating Group on Dispute Settlement, which states that the mechanism to be created shall reflect the dispute-settlement model used in the WTO.
