PRESS COMMUNIQUE

The Sixth Meeting of the Negotiating Group on Subsidies, Antidumping and Countervailing Duties was held in Miami on April 26, 27, and 28, 2000.

The following countries participated in the meeting:

Argentina, Bahamas, Bolivia, Brazil, Canada, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Dominican Republic, Ecuador, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Jamaica, Mexico, Nicaragua, Panama, Paraguay, Peru, Trinidad & Tobago, Uruguay, USA, Venezuela

Deliberations were carried out according to the following agenda:

  1. Approval of the agenda.
     
  2. Discussion of the legislation and administrative practice of the countries.

  3. Discussion of draft texts presented by the delegations.

  4. Discussion of the issue of ways to deepen disciplines on subsidies.

  5. Discussion of the issue of the link between trade policy and competition, including antidumping measures.

  6. Other issues
