Tenth Meeting

Panama, June 28 - 29, 2001

PRESS COMMUNIQUE

The tenth meeting of the FTAA Negotiating Group on Intellectual Property Rights (NGIP) took place in Panama from 28 to 29 June, 2001. Delegates from the following 23 countries were present: Argentina, Bahamas, Bolivia, Brazil, Canada, Colombia, Costa Rica, Chile, Dominican Republic, Ecuador, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Jamaica, Mexico, Nicaragua, Panama, Paraguay, Peru, Saint Lucia,Uruguay, United States., Venezuela. The agenda of the meeting is attached to this Communiqué. The NGIP discussed all items on its agenda. The NGIP consolidated sections two 7,8,9,10,11 and 12 of the NGIP draft preliminary text. The NGIP agreed to hold its next meeting on August 22-24.
