Colombia
Colombia issued Decree 1112 of June of 1996, which creates the National System of Information on Standardization Measures and Procedures for Conformity Evaluation, formed by information on Technical Standards, Technical Regulations and Procedures for Conformity Evaluation, supplied by the National Council of Standards and Qualities , the National Bureau of Standardization, the entities that can issue technical regulations and competent bodies of international trade agreements signed by Colombia.
The System will develop the following activities:
1. Centralize the information on Technical Standards, Technical Regulations and Procedures of Conformity Evaluation;
2. Supply the information on the material when requested to;
3. Notify the competent bodies, in fulfillment of the established in the international trade agreements, the pertinent to the issuance of Technical Standards, Technical Regulation and Procedures for Conformity Evaluation;
4. Receive and administer to the competent national and international entities the consultations on Standardization Measures and Procedures for Conformity Evaluation presented to Colombia.
The Division of Standardization and Quality of the Ministry of Economic Development, under its quality of Technical Secretariat of the National Council of Standards and Qualities, represents and coordinates the System.
