Thirteenth Meeting
Panama, June 3 - 5, 2002
PRESS COMMUNIQUE
The Thirteenth Meeting of the FTAA Joint Government-Private Sector Committee
of Experts on Electronic Commerce was held in Panama City, Panama, from June 3
- 5, 2002. Delegates from the following 20 countries were present: Argentina,
Bahamas, Barbados, Bolivia, Brazil, Canada, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica,
Dominican Republic, Ecuador, El Salvador, Mexico, Panama, Paraguay, Peru,
Trinidad and Tobago, Uruguay, United States, and Venezuela.
The discussions in the meeting followed the approved
agenda (attached). The
Joint Committee discussed all items on its agenda and completed its work plan
for the meeting.
Presentations were made by the following countries on topics and issues
related to E-Government and other issues:
• Canada
• Brazil
• United States of America
• CARICOM
• El Salvador
• Andean Community, Bolivia, Colombia, Ecuador, Venezuela
• Chile
• Costa Rica
The date of the next meeting of the Joint Government-Private Sector Committee
of Experts on Electronic Commerce is July 8-9, 2002.
