PRESS COMMUNIQUE

The Sixth Meeting of the Technical Committee on Institutional Issues (TCI) was held from 12 to 13 June 2002 in Panama. In attendance were delegations from the following countries: Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Canada, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, the Dominican Republic, Ecuador, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Mexico, Nicaragua, Panama, Paraguay, Peru, Trinidad and Tobago, the United States, Uruguay, and Venezuela.

The TCI Agenda for the Sixth Meeting, attached hereto, was approved by the group and all items were considered.

The TCI will reconvene from 17-19 July 2002, for one more meeting prior to the next vice ministerial meeting.
