Fifth Meeting

PRESS COMMUNIQUE

The Fifth Meeting of the Technical Committee on Institutional Issues (TCI) took place on April 2, 2002 in Panama. The following delegations attended: Argentina, Barbados, Bolivia, Brazil, Canada, Colombia, Costa Rica, Chile, Dominican Republic, Ecuador, El Salvador, Guatemala, Haiti, Mexico, Nicaragua, Panama, Paraguay, Peru, Trinidad and Tobago, Uruguay, the United States and Venezuela.

The TCI agreed on the Agenda and covered all the items on it. The Agenda of the meeting is attached.

The TCI is expected to meet twice more before the next ministerial meeting. Precise dates, however, are to be defined by the Trade Negotiations Committee.
