Part II: Bilateral Free Trade Agreements
II. Final Objective

Chile/Mexico
Chapter I, Article I-02: Objectives:
The objectives of this agreement, as elaborated more specifically through its principles and rules, including national treatment, most-favoured-nation treatment and transparency, are to:
(a) stimulate the expansion and diversification of trade between the Parties;
(b) eliminate barriers to trade in, and facilitate the cross-border movement of, goods and services between the territories of the Parties;
(c) promote conditions of fair competition in the free trade area;
(d) increase substantially investment opportunities in the territories of the Parties;
(e) provide adequate and effective protection and enforcement of intellectual property rights in each Party's territory;
(f) establish a framework for further bilateral, regional and multilateral cooperation to expand and enhance the benefits of this Agreement; and
(g) create effective procedures for the implementation and application of this Agreement, for its joint administration and for the resolution of disputes.

Chile/Canada
PART I, Chapter A Article A-02 -The objectives of this agreement, as elaborated more specifically through its principles and rules, including national treatment, most-favoured-nation treatment and transparency, are to :

e) establish a framework for further bilateral, regional and multilateral cooperation to expand and enhance the benefits of this Agreement. Article A-01. Establishment of a Free Trade Area The two Parties are to establish a free trade area in conformity with Article XXIV of the GATT and Article V of the GATS.

Mexico/Nicaragua
Chapter I, Article 1-02: Objectives The objective of this Treaty, as elaborated more specifically through its principles and rules, including national treatment, most-favoured nation treatment, and transparency, are to :
a) stimulate the expansion and diversification of trade among the Parties;
b) eliminate barriers to trade and facilitate the cross-border movement of goods and services among the Parties;
c) promote conditions of fair competition in the free trade area;
d) substantially increase investment opportunities in the territories of the Parties;
e) protect and enforce, by adequate and effective means, intellectual property rights in each Party's territory;
f) establish the broad outlines for subsequent cooperation among the Parties, as well as in the regional and multilateral context, directed towards expanding and improving the benefits of this Treaty;
g) create effective procedures for the implementation and application of this Treaty, for its joint administration and for dispute resolution.

Mexico/Bolivia*
Chapter I, Article 1-01 in Mexico/Bolivia and Article 1-02 in Mexico/Costa Rica The objectives of the two Agreements are to :
a) stimulate the expansion and diversification of trade among the Parties;
b) eliminate barriers to trade and facilitate the movement of goods and services among the Parties;
c) promote conditions of fair competition in the trade among the Parties;
d) substantially increase investment opportunities in the territories of the Parties;
e) protect and enforce intellectual property rights;
f) establish the broad outlines for subsequent cooperation among the Parties, as well as in the regional and multilateral context, directed towards expanding and improving the benefits of this Treaty;
