The Twelfth Meeting of the Negotiating Group on Market Access was held in Panama City, Panama from May 14-16, 2001. Delegations from the following countries were in attendance:
Argentina, Bahamas, Bolivia, Brazil, Canada, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, the Dominican Republic, Ecuador, El Salvador, Guatemala, Guyana, Honduras, Jamaica, Mexico, Nicaragua, Panama, Paraguay, Peru, Trinidad and Tobago, the United States, Uruguay, and Venezuela.

The NGMA agreed on the Agenda, which is attached to the present press communiqué. All the items on the Agenda were covered.

It should be noted that a Work Program was prepared for the following cycle of negotiations.

The next meeting of the Group will be held in Panama City, Panama from July 2-6, 2001.

2. Report of the Buenos Aires Ministerial Meeting and Quebec Summit.
    

3. Analysis of the general and specific mandates of the Buenos Aires Ministerial.
    

4. Organization and Work Plan.
    

5. Hemispheric Data Base.

7. Report from the Chair and List of Tasks.
