PRESS COMMUNIQUÉ

1. The Eleventh Meeting of the Negotiating Group on Government Procurement was held in Panama on May 17, 2001. The following countries were in attendance: Argentina, the Bahamas, Bolivia, Brazil, Canada, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Ecuador, the Dominican Republic, El Salvador, Guatemala, Mexico, Nicaragua, Panama, Paraguay, Peru, Trinidad and Tobago, the United States, Uruguay and Venezuela.
   
   
2. The Agenda approved for discussion is attached as Annex 1.
   
   
3. The meeting considered all the items on the agenda.
   
   
4. The next meeting of the Negotiating Group on Government Procurement will take place from June 18-20, 2001.
